🟢 User Guide – Deworming Indicators Monitor
Path
Reports > Animals > Deworming > Indicators Monitor
This dashboard organizes information on deworming treatments applied in the herd, showing treated animals, costs, and active protocols.
Its purpose is to help maintain effective parasite control, both internal and external, improving productivity and animal health.
1. Animals Dewormed in the Period
Definition: Total number of animals that received antiparasitic treatment within the selected date range.
Usefulness: Allows measuring deworming coverage and comparing it with the total herd or target group.
2. Total Deworming Cost
Definition: Monetary value spent on antiparasitic products during the period.
Usefulness: Helps control spending on parasite prevention and treatment, and aids in planning health budgets.
3. Dewormings by Date (Bar Chart)
Definition: Number of animals dewormed on each recorded date.
Usefulness: Allows verifying if treatments are applied according to the scheduled timeline and protocols.
4. Deworming Cost by Date
Definition: Economic value of treatments performed on a specific date.
Usefulness: Shows how expenses are distributed over the period and helps relate them to campaigns or boosters.
5. Deworming Cost by Month (Line/Column Chart)
Definition: Monthly evolution of deworming expenses.
Usefulness: Identifies spending peaks during specific campaigns and facilitates annual cost projections.
6. Deworming Protocols
Definition: List of protocols configured in the system according to:
- Animal group (females, males, young stock, breeders, etc.)
- Product used (e.g., Levamisole, Moxidectin, etc.)
- Application age
- Dosage
- Route of administration (oral, intramuscular, subcutaneous, rectal)
- Frequency of repetition
Usefulness:
- Ensures continuity of parasite control.
- Allows adapting the strategy to the age and productive status of each group.
- Helps prevent parasite resistance by tracking products used and their rotation.
📘 Quick Glossary
- Deworming: Administration of drugs to control internal (gastrointestinal, pulmonary) and external (ticks, mites) parasites.
- Coverage: Proportion of animals treated relative to the target total.
- Deworming protocol: Defined scheme of product, dosage, and frequency according to the animal group.
- Parasite resistance: Loss of efficacy of a dewormer due to repeated use without rotation.
🚀 How to Use This Dashboard in Practice
- Check the number of animals dewormed → ensure coverage is 100% of the target group.
- Monitor total and monthly costs → compare investment in dewormers with health and productivity benefits.
- Review application dates → ensure intervals defined in protocols are met.
- Consult protocols by group → validate that each lot (young stock, lactating cows, males) has an active and well-structured plan.
- Prevent resistance → rotate products according to protocols and avoid using the same dewormer in all campaigns.
