The Deworming module in IdeasFarm allows you to configure and control antiparasitic treatments by animal group, defining dose, route of administration, age, and frequency of repetition.

Step by step to create a protocol

• Drug
  • Select the commercial or generic name of the deworming product.
• Container unit
  • Indicate in which unit the product is presented:
  • U, mg, L, mm, Kg, ml, g.
• Dose unit
  • Select the unit in which each dose will be administered:
  • ml, mg, g, U, etc.
• Route
  • Route of administration:
  • Oral, Subcutaneous, Intramuscular, Pour-on (topical on the back), etc.
• Dose (ml)
  • Amount of product to be applied per animal.
• Dose type
  • Per head: same dose for all animals in the group.
  • Kg/live weight: dose is calculated based on the animal's weight.
• Milk/meat withdrawal
  • Check Yes if the product requires a withdrawal period.
  • Specify withdrawal days for milk and/or meat according to the manufacturer's instructions.
• Age
  • Enter the age at which the treatment will be applied.
  • The Age Type field allows selecting whether it's days, months, or years.

Frequency

• Define how often the treatment will be repeated after the first application:
• Field “Frequency”
  • Daily → application is repeated every “X” days.
    • Example: Every 1 day = daily, Every 15 days = biweekly.
  • Weekly → repeated every “X” weeks.
    • Example: Every 1 week = weekly, Every 2 weeks = biweekly.
  • Monthly → repeated every “X” months.
    • Example: Every 3 months = quarterly.
  • Yearly → repeated every “X” years.
    • Example: Every 1 year = yearly.
• Field “Every”
  • Appears after selecting frequency and allows specifying the exact interval. Examples: • Monthly frequency + Every 6 → every 6 months. • Weekly frequency + Every 2 → every 2 weeks.
• Field “Ends”
  • Never → protocol remains active indefinitely.
  • On a date → specify an exact end date.
  • After X repetitions → stops after a determined number of applications.

• Drug: Ivermectin 1%
• Container unit: ml
• Dose unit: ml
• Route: Subcutaneous
• Dose: 1 ml per 50 kg live weight
• Milk/meat withdrawal: Yes (Milk: 3 days, Meat: 28 days)
• Age: 6 months (type: months)
• Frequency: Monthly
• Every: 6 (every 6 months)
• Ends: After 4 repetitions

Result: Treatment is applied every 6 months, repeated 4 times in total, with milk/meat withdrawal control.
