Animal Import Manual

This tool allows you to upload multiple animals into the system quickly and in a structured way.

đź“ť How does it work?

  1. Click “Download template”.
  2. Open the Excel file and fill in the data according to your information.
  3. Save the file and select it using the upload button.
  4. Enter the date of last check so the system records the updated status.
  5. Click “Save” to import the animals into the system.

🗂️ Fields included in the template

Fields are divided into two sections:

1. General registration data

Field Description
Name (optional) Animal name for internal use (can be left blank).
Ear tag / Internal ID (required) Unique code of the animal within your system.
Alternative code Another official or external ID code (optional).
Birth date Format: dd/mm/yyyy (required).
Sex Use F for female or M for male (required).
Mother’s code Internal ID of the mother.
Father’s code (Natural mating) Bull code if natural mating was used.
Father’s name (Natural mating) Bull name (optional).
Straw code (AI) Semen code used if artificial insemination was done.
Straw name (AI) Name of the semen used (optional).

2. Operational records data

Field Description
Date of last calving Only if the animal has calved.
Date of last dry-off Only if it was dried off.
Date of last service Date of the last reproductive service.
Father code (last service – Natural mating) Bull code used if natural mating was applied.
Straw code (last service – AI) Semen code if AI was used (optional).
Father’s name (AI) Name of the bull used in AI (optional).
Pregnancy confirmation Mark with an X if the animal is pregnant. Leave blank if not.
