Animal Purchase and Sale Guide

The Animal Purchase and Sale module allows organized recording of livestock entries and exits on the farm.

Each record is linked to the unique UUID that IdeasFarm automatically assigns to each animal at the time of creation, ensuring traceability in any transaction.

Animal Purchases

The purpose of purchase records is to document the entry of animals to the farm.

When registering a purchase, you must specify:

Field Description
Purchase Date The day the animal entered the farm.
Origin Farm The farm from which the animal comes.
Animal Selected from the database or created at that moment if it is new.
Animal Breed If the animal is new, its breed must be entered (or crossbreeds, if applicable). This enriches subsequent analyses on genetics and productivity.
Purchase Price Amount paid for the animal.

This process ensures that each purchased animal is correctly identified, with its breed recorded and linked to the origin farm.

Animal Sales

Sales records are used to document the exit of animals from the farm, whether due to culling, business, or transfer.

When registering a sale, you must specify:

Field Description
Sale Date The day the animal left the farm.
Destination Farm If the sale is to another farm that also uses IdeasFarm, enter its ID; otherwise, leave this field empty.
Sale Price (USD) Price at which the animal was sold.
Reason for Sale Options include low production, health status, age, reproduction, genetic anomalies, or normal livestock sale.

This allows control not only of economic aspects but also technical reasons for the animal's exit.

🔑 Importance of UUID

Each animal has a unique UUID generated by IdeasFarm.
